One thing I've found is that the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa is connected to many of these strange events! I've also managed to come across some information about the mysterious power that Hoopa appears to wield. I've been researching supernatural events that have occurred over the last 100 years. This, when added to the lore behind Hoopa, has many players convinced that your encounters with the legendaries during your adventure are the doing of Hoopa.Ī brief recap: Hackers found a Pokemon in the code of X & Y that, when transferred into Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, triggers an event in PokeMarts where an NPC will say the following to you if you have a Hoopa in your party: Some players have likened the rings that Hoopa uses during the move to those that the player must walk through in order to find legendaries in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire:
Most of which believe that it has something to do with one of Hoopa's moves called Hyperspace Fury. This begs the question, Just why would you want to seal away the power of a Pokemon? With Pokemon such as Palkia and Dialga on the loose, what could possibly be bad enough to be stripped of its power? Well, there is no official answer to that, but there are a lot of player theories. The in game description of the Prison Bottle seems to back this up as it says "A bottle believed to have been used to seal away the power of a certain Pokemon long, long ago." This is interesting for those who like to look into the lore of Pokemon and their creation, and although the Pokemon does not seen very threatening in the image above, but compared to its original form, it's a lot more menacing. This is the alternate version of Hoopa, known as Hoopa Unbound. And sure enough, players who used the item on Hoopa saw their prized Pokemon transform into this Once the employee finishes telling his story, he proceeds to give you the item (named "Prison Bottle"), which is apparently supposed to make Hoopa become "Unbound" for three days. The basic gist of the video is that a new PokeMart employee will appear in the corner of the building who, when spoken too, will tell you a story about how he foolishly traded Mart goods for a useless item. We know this because, once Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby were released, players who used Powersave to insert Hoopa into their games found that it triggered a strange new event inside PokeMarts. Now, we know that the sprite is actually an alternate form that Hoopa can take. At the time, players assumed that this was the mega evolution of Hoopa, and that the Pokemon would be added later during an event of some kind. Not only was this sprite hidden within the game, players who saw this also noticed that the sprite looks very similar to Hoopa, but more threatening.
This is not the only case of hidden Pokemon found in the code of a game, as the hacking team "Project Pokemon" found another set of sprites belonging to the hidden Pokemon within the demo of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Hoopa is a psychic/ghost type, and has an ability called "magician".

However the mystery of Hoopa has only grown since the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.Īlthough Hoopa hasn't seen it's official release, with the help of software such as Powersave, players have managed to get the Pokemon into their game and capture it. That isn't all, Volcanions Pokedex entry and moves list were revealed, although there is still no sign of the Pokemon in game.
